Flying Soft Robots

Flying manipulators are aerial drones with attached grippers or manipulator arms and belong to a recently more actively developed research area in aerial robotics. The rigid nature of these arms lack compliance, flexibility, and smoothness in movement. We propose to use a soft-bodied robotic arms or hands attached to an aerial drone to leverage the compliant and flexible behavior of the arm or hand on a drone as floating base.
