Focus Rollout 28 May 2024
We are excited to showcase two cutting-edge focus projects from the Soft Robotics Lab this year: SARA and NOCTUA. These innovative student-driven projects push the boundaries of robotics and intelligent systems, combining advanced research with practical applications in the field.
This year, the Soft Robotics Lab is proud to present two outstanding focus projects: SARA and NOCTUA. Both projects, led by talented teams of ETH Zurich students, tackle significant challenges in robotics and offer novel solutions through groundbreaking research.
The Soft Autonomous Robotic Assistant (SARA) Project
SARA aims to develop a soft robotic assistant capable of interacting with delicate environments. From biomedical applications to tasks requiring precise manipulation, SARA integrates soft robotics, advanced sensors, and autonomous control to perform tasks that demand dexterity and adaptability. Learn more about the project here. Find more details about SARA here.
The NOCTUA Project
NOCTUA focuses on aerial robotics, developing an autonomous drone system optimized for night-time operations in low-visibility conditions. Leveraging cutting-edge sensors and AI-driven navigation, NOCTUA is designed to navigate complex environments with minimal human intervention. Explore the NOCTUA project in more detail here.
These focus projects reflect the innovative spirit of the lab, offering hands-on experience for students and delivering real-world applications of robotics technologies. Stay tuned for more updates on the progress of both projects!
