Prof. Katzschmann’s academic tour highlights the exciting advances in robotics, fostering collaborations and inspiring innovations across continents.
Over the past two weeks, Prof. Dr. Robert Katzschmann has embarked on an academic tour, visiting several prestigious universities across the United States. During these visits, he has delivered talks on cutting-edge topics such as musculoskeletal robotics, medical innovation, and advanced robotic fabrication, while engaging in insightful lab visits, demonstrations, and discussions with students, researchers, and faculty members.
In his presentations, Prof. Katzschmann delves into recent advances in artificial electrohydraulic musculoskeletal robots, which employ electrohydraulic actuators to produce lifelike muscle contractions and adaptive motions, as featured in his recent publication in Nature Communications. He also explores innovations in vision-controlled inkjet printing for robotics (published in Nature), xolographic biofabrication techniques for biohybrid swimmers (presented at RoboSoft), and the computational optimization of musculoskeletal robotic hands (featured at Humanoids). These projects showcase groundbreaking steps towards a future where musculoskeletal robots, biohybrid designs, and co-optimization techniques redefine robotic interaction and manipulation.
